DESIGNED WITH THE END IN MIND

  • Before touching a single slide deck, I like to first dig into what is specifically needed.
Think: Who is the audience? What is the scope of knowledge?

  • Mapping out the full learner journey is vital. This means every choice is made on purpose, with less going back to the drawing board and more real impact.
Think:What modalities will be used? How will content be delivered? How do we assess our learners?

  • This is the fun part, in my biased opinion. Based on the developed learner map, content is created. It's about building only what's worth building and making it visually compelling, cognitively focused, and true to the content.
Think: Where and how will they access the learning?

  • Hitting the first finish line, the content becomes published to learners. They are able to access and complete the content.

  • At the final finish line, I am able to chart learner progress and feedback. Taking time to reflect with learners, teams, and stakeholders defines outcomes and where to go next.
Think: Where can we improve? What data do we have to reflect learner progress and improvement?
